Sofia Ahmad, O.D.
Dr. Sofia Ahmad grew up in Woodbridge, VA and knew she wanted to be an eye doctor from an early age. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mary Washington. She then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree and received a certificate for Advanced Studies in Contact Lenses. She completed her clinical rotations at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, DiLorenzo Health Clinic at the Pentagon, Martinsburg VA Medical Center, and several contact lens specialty sites. After completing her education, she returned home to Woodbridge, where she has spent the past nine years practicing. Now, she’s taking the next step by opening her own practice, continuing her commitment to providing exceptional care to the community!
Expertise & Experience
Dr. Ahmad is trained in primary eye care, ocular disease, surgical co-management, and specialty contact lenses, including fitting normal and diseased corneas. She enjoys getting to know her patients and is committed to providing exceptional patient care through her experience and use of advanced technology.
She is a Past President of the Northern Virginia Optometric Society, Keyperson for the Virginia Optometric Association, and an active member of the American Optometric Association. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Dr. Ahmad enjoys giving back to the community by providing vision screenings. She has also traveled to Honduras to provide free eye exams and eye glasses to those with limited access to eye care.
She is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi and can complete eye examinations in Spanish.
